Adolf Wilhelm Abel (18 October 1914 – 26 August 1944) was a highly decorated Oberstleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross ((ドイツ語:Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes)). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Adolf Abel was killed in action in the morning hours on 26 August 1944 roughly west of Gura Galbenei, Moldova.
